The Datadog Agent is a software that runs on your hosts. It collects events and metrics from hosts and sends them to Datadog, where you can analyze your monitoring and performance data. The Datadog Agent is open-source, and its source code is available on GitHub at DataDog/datadog-agent. It is recommended to fully install the Agent. Why am I not seeing metrics with the Datadog agent?
If you have not yet installed the Datadog Agent, go to the dedicated Agent integration page for installation instructions. If you just installed the Agent, it may take a few moments before you start seeing metrics appear. The first place you should check for metrics is the Metrics Explorer. What port does the Datadog agent manager GUI run on?
The Datadog Agent Manager GUI is browser-based. The port the GUI runs on can be configured in your datadog.yaml file. Setting the port to -1 disables the GUI. By default it is enabled on port 5002 for Windows and Mac and is disabled on Linux. What is Datadog-dogstatsd?
This package is used in containerized environments where DogStatsD runs as a sidecar or environments running a DogStatsD server without full Agent functionality. The standalone DogStatsD package is installed with the Agent one-line install command except every occurrence of datadog-agent should be replaced with datadog-dogstatsd.
