The Vietnam War was costly to the U.S. Marine Corps. From 1965 to 1975, nearly 500,000 Marines served in Southeast Asia. Of these, more than 13,000 were killed and 88,000 wounded, nearly a third of all American causalities sustained during the war. During the Vietnam War, there were hardly any females placed on active duty. Out of the 58,220 soldiers, just eight were women. As for the different branches, 38,224 were in the Army, 14,844 were in the Marine Corps, 2,586 in the Air Force, 2,559 in the Navy, and seven from the Coast Guard.Did Marines use M113 in Vietnam?
The Marines were never issued 113's but that doesn't mean they never rode in them in Vietnam. IIRC from my references, there were a couple of joint army/marine ops where 113's were used. I'll have to recheck for you. The grunts grabbed any ride they could, any time they could get it.
